This program is suited to anyone who is new or already working in the Coal Mining industry. The program can be contextualised to a specific mine site operation to incorporate client Safety & Health Management System requirements, thereby saving valuable time at the site.
Using our unique storyline of ‘A day in the life of a coal mine worker,’ this program provides an interactive learning environment covering the essential elements of an effective induction program, including:
- Application of Site Safety and Health Management system
- Basic lifesaving first aid, firefighting and fire prevention
- Mining industry operations
- General safety requirements
- Hazard identification and risk management
- Isolation and tagging procedures
- Common core skills of a coal mine worker
- Emergency procedures
- Protecting the environment
- Working in accordance with site procedures
This program covers the six nationally accredited Units of Competency (UOCs) referenced in the statutory Queensland Recognised Standard 11 (STD 11) “Training in Coal Mines”.
